Studio ALC transformed this dining room, but kept some of the home’s original charm and features which is what the homeowner wanted. The patterned wall treatment, along with the L-shaped banquette makes the corner of the room feel like cute restaurant. The soft tones and tufted back of the banquette is spacious, perfect for a small or large group.
To finish off the room, the decor is a mix of vintage pieces, art, and old family photos of the homeowner’s relatives, adding a personal touch.
This dining room reminds me of a cozy corner table at a popular bistro in town, where you could spend hours with friends enjoying a good meal over laughs. Except this spot is in your home and you can get a table every night.
Every time I’m invited back to photograph The Kwendy Home, there’s a new room that I haven’t seen before and this was no exception. From little details to entire transformations, there’s always something new.
The dining room was created with hosting in mind, with a long dining table and plenty of space to move around.
This dining area was under-utilized before Toronto interior designer Sabrina O’Neill Design created the banquette and now, her clients spend much more time around the dining table.
